Solaris continues to consolidate its position as a leader in the European zero-emission urban bus market by securing three new contracts with the operators Transdev Nederland, GZM Metropolis and MZA Warsaw. These agreements have a combined value of over €110 million. These agreements build on Solaris's record year for order intake, further confirming the market's confidence in its technological and operational solutions.
Transdev Nederland has entered into a contract with Solaris for the supply of 55 electric buses. The contract includes both the shortest electric bus in Solaris's range, the Urbino 9 LE, and the longest double-articulated vehicle, the 24-metre Urbino, with deliveries scheduled for summer 2026.

The vehicles will operate under the Arnhem-Nijmegen-Foodvalley (ANF) concession, covering the cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen, as well as the Foodvalley region. The Province of Gelderland, which manages public transportation in the area, recently awarded this concession to the operator. Transdev Nederland previously placed its trust in Solaris vehicles, currently operating 20 hydrogen buses in South Holland and 10 Metrostyle trolleybuses in Arnhem. An additional 96 Solaris electric buses are set to join the fleet in Utrecht, following a contract awarded in 2024.
Solaris has also secured contracts in Poland with MZA Warsaw and GZM Metropolis to supply 50 and 42 electric buses, respectively.
The order for the Polish capital city consists of 50 articulated 18-metre buses, equipped with modular propulsion systems and Solaris High Energy batteries with a capacity of over 700 kWh., which will be added to the recent order for another 79 electric buses also awarded to Solaris this past September. Solaris and MZA Warsaw have collaborated since 1997, during which time Solaris has delivered more than 1,350 buses.

Meanwhile, GZM Metropolis (the Association of Municipalities in the Silesia region of Poland) has ordered 42 electric buses from Solaris, as well as the charging infrastructure for the depot. According to the agreement, PKM Świerklaniec, the public transport operator in southern Poland, will receive 24 12-meter-long Urbino electric buses and 18 18-meter-long articulated Urbino electric buses. The former will have a capacity for up to 70 passengers, while the articulated versions can carry up to 120 people. The units will be equipped with a wide range of driver assistance and safety systems, with the operator having also opted for the eSConnect fleet management system. This system allows real-time access to vehicle data such as performance, location and status, to optimise operation management and planning.
Urbino 10.5 Electric Wins 2026 Sustainable Bus Award
The Solaris Urbino 10.5 electric model bus was awarded the prestigious 2026 Sustainable Bus Award in the "Urban" category on the same day as its global debut. This award recognises the vehicle’s innovation, with the jury also recognising the important role Solaris's fleet plays in advancing sustainable public transport. The award ceremony took place during the Busworld 2025 trade fair in Brussels.

Unveiled to the public for the first time this October, the Urbino 10.5 electric further expands Solaris's extensive range of zero-emission vehicles. The new model combines a compact design, excellent manoeuvrability and high passenger capacity.
This is the second consecutive year that a Solaris vehicle has won the competition. In 2025, the Solaris Urbino 12 electric vehicle with modular propulsion took home the award. The Sustainable Bus Award is a prestigious European accolade that recognises buses and coaches setting new standards in sustainable transport - both environmentally and socially. Once again, this year’s jury comprised representatives from Europe’s leading magazines in the sector.
